An Overview of Indonesia
Against this background, it is a pity that Indonesia hasn't been properly presented to South Koreans yet. Publications on Indonesia have mostly been focusing on tourism to Bali or Indonesian language learning. This is where 'Why the World Pay Attention to Indonesia' initiates.
This book aims to introduce still-unfamiliar Indonesia to South Korea in an easy way. 3-year-long experience in Indonesia mixed with curiosity of a former journalist produced 35 stories over Indonesian politics, economy, society and culture.

Why the World Pay Attention to Indonesia(3)
An Overview of Indonesia
Relationship between Indonesia and South Korea is getting closer as well. More and more young generation in Indonesia goes wild with South Korean celebrities while South Korean electronic goods, IT gadgets and food gain huge popularity among the public.
In fact, the number of Indonesian visitors to South Korea already reached 200,000 in 2014. On the other hand, as many as 2,200 South Korean businesses have been actively involved in Indonesia to navigate a new growth engine such as Halal market to cope with the 21st century.

Japan's move to protect geographical brands(8)
Japan’s move to protect geographical brands in China and its implication to Korea
After completion, my research will be published in the form of a Korean book and an English article in the journal of Korean Academy of Commodity Science & Technology in about 3 months. Whenever chances are given either at home or abroad, I will be willingly presenting my book and article to the academic field and governmental sector.
As a former journalist, I wouldn’t sit idle to promote my publications to the media as well. As emphasized above, geographical brands haven’t been the talk of the town in the Korean academic field. Scholars have failed to spare enough time in delving into the importance of the protection of geographical brands overseas.
Against this background, my wish is that my subject will play a role of a stepping stone for full-fledged exploration on this issue in the mid-long term. If government officials get practical ideas from my project and put them into actions, it will be my excellent pride. This research involves three countries in Northeast Asia.
This frontier quest will prove itself to be useful contents to all related parties in the region if relationship among Korea, Japan and China sees rooms for improvement, as a result. If so, it goes without saying that my reputation as an expert on issues of intellectual property rights will be shining.
As such, I will have more chances to study on this field and even probably draw attention internationally. On this token, an exclusive and high-quality research will be of great help not only to myself but also to the growth of my organization, Korean Academy of Commodity Science & Technology.

This
book aims to introduce still-unfamiliar Indonesia to South Korea in an easy
way. 3-year-long experience in Indonesia mixed with curiosity of a former
journalist produced 35 stories over Indonesian politics, economy, society and
culture. Major cities in Java Island like Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung,
Jogjakarta, Solo(Surakarta) and Bali Island are touched upon, too. In addition,
general map and information of Indonesia as well as simple Indonesian
expressions are provided.
From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely
hope ‘Why Indonesia’ will play a timely and
meaningful role of narrowing distance between Indonesia and South Korea further.
It couldn’t be better if this publication will prove itself helpful to those
South Korean businesses and young people dreaming of their future in Indonesia.
