Overtourism or balanced development? Bali airport plan sparks debate

Overtourism or balanced development? Bali airport plan sparks debate

Long Indonesia's premier tourist destination, Bali keeps getting all the attention, and ongoing government initiatives, rather than spread out development across the country, further cement the island's dominance, to the extent that many now worry about overtourism.

Comparative Study on the Perception and Response of Singapore and Indonesia

It was not until 2003, at the 9th ASEAN Summit, that the ASEAN leaders first declared the formation of an 'ASEAN Economic Community' as stated in the Bali Concord II.

This was in line with the ASEAN Vision 2020, which aimed to transform the ASEAN into a stable, prosperous and highly-competitive region with equitable economic development, reduced poverty, and socio-economic disparities, progressing in tandem with the establishment of the ASEAN Political Security Community and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community.

Why the World Pay Attention to Indonesia(5)

Why the World Pay Attention to Indonesia

In fact, the number of Indonesian visitors to South Korea already reached 200,000 in 2014. On the other hand, as many as 2,200 South Korean businesses have been actively involved in Indonesia to navigate a new growth engine such as Halal market to cope with the 21st century.

Against this background, it is a pity that Indonesia hasn't been properly presented to South Koreans yet. Publications on Indonesia have mostly been focusing on tourism to Bali or Indonesian language learning.
